2014년 ‘겨울왕국’ 신드롬 열풍을 일으키는 데 큰 역할을 했던 OST ‘Let It Go’는 제86회 아카데미 시상식 주제가상을 비롯하여 국내에서도 애니메이션 OST 최초 음원사이트 1위를 기록하는 등 영화 주제가 그 이상을 뛰어넘는 OST 임을 입증한 바 있다.

이러한 OST를 탄생시켰던 크리스틴 앤더슨–로페즈 & 로버트 로페즈 부부가 이번 <겨울왕국 2> OST에도 참여해 또 다른 명곡을 탄생시켰다. <겨울왕국 2>의 새로운 노래 7곡 모두 작사, 작곡한 로페즈 부부는 <겨울왕국>과 마찬가지로 이번 작품에서 ‘엘사’와 ‘안나’ 그리고 친구들의 새로운 모험 속 다양한 감정을 노래로 전달하고자 했다.

로페즈 부부가 작업한 이번 영화 속 ‘엘사’의 주제곡이자 ‘Let It Go’를 이을 또 하나의 명곡 OST인 ‘숨겨진 세상’(Into the Unknown)은 뮤직 예고편으로 공개한 지 24시간 만에 519만 뷰를 기록하며 예비 관객들의 뜨거운 관심과 주목을 받았다. ‘엘사’가 저 멀리에서 어떤 목소리가 자신을 부르고 있다고 느끼고 그 부름을 거부할 수 없는 상황이 되며 그 답을 찾기 위해서 아렌델 왕국과 멀리 떨어진 곳으로 떠나야 한다는 사실을 알게 된 내용을 담은 곡으로, 웅장한 사운드를 통해 ‘엘사’의 감정과 이야기를 한층 더 풍성하게 전한다.
